Bohemian Rhapsody

It's the 70's. Singer Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon make up the British rock band Queen. It would be in 1975 when his single Bohemian Rhapsody would place them in the foreground of the international music scene. The film is a chronicle of the meteoric rise to Olympus of the band's music, through its iconic songs and revolutionary sound, since Mercury joined Brian May and Roger Taylor, until the 1985 Live Aid macroconcert at the stadium Wembley, six years before Mercury died prematurely. A resounding and sonorous celebration of Queen and her extraordinary and unclassifiable singer.

This biopic of the famous Freddie Mercury, singer, songwriter and founder of the rock band Queen, is directed by Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle, Sunrise in Edinburgh). The actor Rami Malek (Mr. Robot, Night in the Museum: The Secret of Pharaoh) plays the leader and vocalist of the band, while Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse) plays Roger Taylor, drummer of the group Queen, Joseph Mazzello (The social network) to bassist John Deacon and Gwilym Lee (Jamestown) to Brian May, lead guitarist. The cast is completed by Aidan Gillen (King Arthur: The Legend of Excalibur) as John Reid, the representative of Queen between 1975 and 1978, and Tom Hollander (Mission: Impossible - Secret Nation) as Jim Beach, Reid's replacement as group manager . The film also features actors Mike Myers (Damned Bastards), Aaron McCusker (The Astronaut Wives Club) and Lucy Boynton (Murder on the Orient Express).

REVIEWS

Collider

"Malek's work successfully brings together a wide variety of snapshots of Freddie Mercury's life, beginning with the formation of the band."

ComingSoon.net

"And works. It could be because Mercury is just that, it's just attractive for its show. " ComingSoon.net

The Wrap

'Bohemian Rhapsody' is an unconditional success. But when it tries to be an authentic biographical film of an innovative band and its singular singer, it is rather the small silhouette of a man. "

New Yorker

"Most of the movie is full of snatches of talkative and cheesy rock, and it gives off the delicious scent of parody."

The Times

"The film can not claim that it has even achieved the status of a wiki movie."
